Reiki - Healing Experiance

Okay, here we go as promised. Before I start I want to make it clear that the opinions and experiences given below are my own. If I offend anyone I apologise in advance. Reiki was the re-discovery of Sanskrit healing techniques in the 18th century by a Japanese Bible College teacher. The basis behind it is a chanelling of Universal Energy (chi/prana/mana/etc) from the Universe itself, through the practicioner and (via the Chakras) into the body of the patient (great I'm a walking gear clutch). The energy floods the patient and addresses itself to those areas that need healing. Once you receive your attunement its always there, always on, has no contraindications * and is totally safe. This sounded good so this is what happened to me. . . I turned up on the Saturday morning and met my Reike Master for the first time. When my fellow student arrived we spent the morning and part of the afternnon being taught the history and 'science' behind Reiki. Then we had our attunement... Sat there blanking my mind when the Master started moving around me. Discovered later that she was 'opening' my aura and placing energising symbols inside. At the time it was wild. I was flooded with a white light shot through with gold celtic knotwork. I then saw glimpses of me in other incarnations. (don't ask. This is my experience). After we had time to compose ourselves we then got some hands on experience. Running your hand through someones aura (not touching the body) you can actually feel injuries and illnesses as sticky patches or cold spots. This was the subject of Sundays lessons as well. When I've given Reiki I've had people tell me my hands get almost uncomfortably hot and I've also had reports of electrical currrent coming off my palms. Over the last seven months I've done hospital work on the local cancer ward, worked on Bells Palsy, bad backs, cuts and bruises etc. Like most things the more you use it the more experienced you become.. You can pick up on old injuries that you haven't been asked to treat ! (Story my fellow students mother is now a Reiki master herself, the daughter was looking for something at home. The phone rang, it was her mother saying, the thing she was looking for was in the cupboard in the kitchen - weird or what ?) Now I travel around on a Saturday morning to peoples houses providing Reiki.. When I get to stage 2 I can get practicioners insurance if I want to open a treatment room. Hope this gives you some idea of what it was like for me and a slight insight of what happens to you, I haven't wanted a cigar since my attunement... BB Ogre
